Thomas served two enlistments; first he enlisted in Attleborough on Sep 1,
1779 as a private in Captain Joseph Franklin's company, Colonel Nathan Wyler's
regiment. He served 4 months, and was discharged Dec 31, 1779. He re-enlisted
on July 28, 1780 in Captain Caleb Richardson's company, Colonel Abiel
Mitchell's regiment, which was raised to re-enforce
the Continental Army. This was a 3 month enlistment and expired on Oct 31
1780.
